Surgical Pathway

The Surgical Pathway at Imagen University is designed for clinicians ready to develop and refine their surgical skills—from socket preservation and single-tooth implants to advanced grafting techniques and full-arch implantology. With stepwise training, immersive hands-on workshops, and real-world mentoring, this pathway builds the clinical knowledge and confidence needed to deliver predictable surgical outcomes in any practice setting.

Whether you’re just entering the world of implant dentistry or aiming to master advanced surgical workflows, the Surgical Pathway will elevate your capabilities and set a strong foundation for long-term success.

What You’ll Learn

  • Perform atraumatic extractions and socket preservation techniques
  • Understand the fundamentals of implant placement and surgical planning
  • Apply bone grafting principles in routine and complex scenarios
  • Master ridge augmentation and guided bone regeneration (GBR)
  • Gain clinical mentorship through real-time, in-office training
  • Confidently deliver full-arch implant restorations with surgical precision

Recommended Course Sequence

This course provides a comprehensive exploration of extraction bone grafting, focusing on the essential techniques and materials for successful socket preservation. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge of Class 1 socket armamentarium, socket classification, and the various grafting materials used to enhance bone regeneration. The course also includes a hands-on component where attendees will practice techniques on models, ensuring they leave with practical skills that can be applied in clinical settings.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Understand the anatomy and physiology of extraction sockets.
  2. Distinguish between different socket classifications and their clinical implications.
  3. Identify various materials used in socket grafting by understanding the properties, indications, and contraindications of each material.
  4. Appreciate the correlation between successful implant placement and a properly preserved extraction site

Track 2 requires Track 1 as a prerequisite. This module is designed to provide participants with a thorough understanding of single-implant placement principles, from initial diagnosis to implant placement. Participants will learn the theoretical foundations and clinical techniques necessary for successful implant placement. The course features a hands-on component, allowing participants to practice implant placement on models and simulated cases, ensuring they gain practical skills and confidence to apply these techniques in their practice.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1.  Understand the Fundamentals of Single Implant Placement
  2. Develop Surgical Skills for Implant Placement
  3. Enhance Treatment Planning through CBCT Analysis

Upcoming Events

This advanced course provides an in-depth exploration of alveolar ridge augmentation with a primary focus on Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) as a predictable and effective treatment modality. Participants will gain comprehensive knowledge of bone biology, grafting materials, barrier membranes, and the use of biologics. Clinical decision-making, case selection, and technique optimization will be emphasized to ensure successful outcomes in both horizontal and vertical ridge augmentation procedures.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  1. Explain why Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) is the preferred bone augmentation technique for most clinicians.
  2. Identify and compare the different types of bone grafting materials commonly used in ridge augmentation, including their indications and limitations.
  3. Describe the various types of barrier membranes (resorbable and non-resorbable) and their roles in successful GBR procedures.
  4. Justify the use of biologics in GBR and understand their impact on bone regeneration outcomes.
