I recently had the opportunity to evaluate the effectiveness of Curodont in our practice and wanted to share a case that highlights its ability to remineralize enamel on an interproximal incipient lesion.

Curodont Case

About three months ago, we saw my dental assistant, Annabelle, for routine radiographs and discovered caries on the distal of tooth number 12. We applied Curadont according to manufacturer’s  directions and instructed Annabelle to floss the area and use Stella Life mouth rinse on a daily basis.

Last week, Annabelle returned for follow up x-rays and we compared them on Overjet. The incipient caries on tooth number 12 had totally remineralized and the radiographs on Overjet showed the stark difference. We have now treated many incipient lesions with Curodont and will track how these lesions respond to the treatment.

Radiographs

Here are the before and after radiographs for this case. I feel this is a great way for our practices to offer state of the art conservative dentistry to our patients and a great way for us to build our dental practices.  This treatment in many states can be done when the patient has their prophy and exam by the hygienist in just a few minutes.
